I meant to say that I have left my REGULAR PD vet UNCERTAIN before and my PD has suffered because of it.  When I go to Gulf Coast, I always leave certain that my PD has received the BEST care!

yes, it's pricey, more than my regular vet.  Couldn't tell you how much for that, maybe a few hundred??  Maybe you could call and ask ahead of time (like for a check up?).  If the PD has problems, they would probably run several tests.  This place is like a hospital for humans. . .you forget that it's a vet, they treat and test and treat for everything.  And like a hospital, it is more expensive than seeing your doc at a clinic.
BUT, I have to say, that when I leave there, I am 100% sure that they have done all they could and have all the info they need for treatmant.  I would pay what I need to for that security.  I have the left the Vet before not uncertain, and my PD has suffered because of it.  Never again.  They also have all the special equipment needed for small animal care. . . very important, and well, we have to halp pay for that!  lol
They'll tell you how much everything will be before they run all the tests and treatments so that you an know what you are getting yourself into.

I see Dr. Natalie Antinoff in Houston at Gulf Coast Veterinary Specialists, she is amazing.
They are at 610 close to the Galleria, right off the freeway.

I don't know any in Houston but Westgate Pet and Bird in Austin knows prairie dogs and is recommended by the exotic owners in Austin.
